Knock-out & Cut-off - Once the tank has cooled enough, it's just a matter of carefully whacking the iron casing enough to loosen and break up the plaster investment.
Once free, I normally take the now metal tree encrusted with plaster down to my local carwash to use the pressure washers to clean it up (a trick I learned from a jeweler friend of mine). Not particularly conventional, but it beats owning a sand-blaster. Once clean, it's just a matter of cutting the individual pieces of the tree with our bolt-cutter. A little leverage helps. The scrap and rejects go back into the re-melt bin.
